Excellent day in the mountains!
NFD-24 is mostly potholes, be mindful. NF-2419 is well graded and a breeze after 24. My Outback did just fine.
Arrived at the Lower TH shortly before 6am, first car in the turn out. Trail is clear and snow free until the Summer/Winter junction. Opted for the summer route and had a wonderful hike. We had ice axes and a set of crampons but micro spikes and trekking poles were enough. “Trail” is pretty easy to follow as long as you know the route and have some navigational skills. Arrived at the summit by 830am, had clear views and the place to ourselves. Snow was already soft and slushy on the way down. Crossed paths with less than 10 people and one pup the whole day. Back at the car by 10am.
