I set out around 9AM on weekday from the Sunrise parking lot. It was a bit busy but I was expecting much worse so was pleasantly surprised. A few other hikers and myself missed the turn off for Klahhane because it was somewhat obscured by a bit of snow which is probably melted down considerably by now. Some places were a bit muddy due to the snow melt but nothing too bad. The few snow patches weren't bad either, I made it by just fine in just my boots. Man these switchbacks up to the ridge felt particularly brutal for some reason. There was only one party there when I arrived at the ridge, but a large group came up behind me so I continued on for about a mile and a half or so for some sweet, sweet solitude and sweeping views which I found in spades. Had a beautiful outcropping all to myself the hour-ish I spent there! It was hot at this point so I grabbed a couple of snowballs to carry in my hands on the way back to keep me cool. Stunning day in the mountains!
