Attempted the West Fork trail from the trailhead at NF-113 (directions listed in the WTA description above by way of the Middle Fork Rd). The trail is passable for the first half mile or so, but as mention in other reports on this section of the trail, after the first crossing of the river, the trail becomes overgrown and strewn with hundreds of blowdowns. We gave up around 1.5-2 miles in. I had my leashed husky and navigating the blowdown’s with her was a major challenge. It’s unfortunate, because this is a beautiful section of trail despite the 2017 burn. Would be great to see it restored!
