The length and steepness of the hike was very doable. I did not particularly enjoy the rocky sections where I had to carefully choose my next footing. There are many sections with log steps as well which were fairly easy to walk on but the trail was quite wet today, it rained part of the time we were hiking and some log steps were full of water. I recommend wearing waterproof hiking shoes or boots until the weather is more consistently dry. The lake was beautiful, but had lots of flying bugs, probably mosquitos. I did not get bitten but they were swarming when we tried to eat our snack. We did not walk the full trail around the lake, but enjoyed our view from near the boardwalk before returning to the trailhead.
