I got on this hike by accident. I’m visiting from Ohio. My friend who lives here is an avid hiker. We hiked the Green Mountain near Bremerton a week ago because it has a nice view of downtown Seattle at the summit. This week we decided to hike the Little Si because it’s similar in difficulty rating. We took the option to check out the Boulder Garden Loop but made the wrong turn at some point. The switch back is relentless and the steepness never ceases. We found out we were on Mt Si trail from a sign near the summit. But we continued to the summit. The scramble to the Haystack is definitely not for everyone. My experience from rock climbing allowed me to feel confident going up and down-climbing it. A fall from near the top can be fatal. However I’m glad we did this and the views from the summit is breathtaking. On our way down I got separated from my friend because she decided to run. I took the wrong turn and ended up at Mt Si’s parking lot. Fortunately, a really nice fella gave me a ride back to Little Si’s parking lot. We started the hike at 12:30pm and returned to our car at 5:10pm even with all the silly mistakes.

Glad you had a good visit in spite of navigation glitches! The flower is Bear Grass. It's very widespread around here and this is the perfect season to catch them blooming.

Wow--quite an achievement to summit Mt Si after thinking you were going to do Little Si! Way to go!
