Arrived at Barlow Pass TH at 10:30am on a sunny Saturday and the parking lot was almost full. Outhouse was unlocked and stocked with toilet paper.
Trail to Monte Cristo involved some a detour river crossing over logs that was well marked with orange/pink flagging tape. Trail beyond the Monte Cristo up to Poodle Dog Pass was also very well marked with no snow until the pass.
Although the switchbacks trail is easy to discern (unlike prior trip reports), there are plenty of loose rocks/debris + two large blow downs, and the trail becomes a steady stream of water at various points.
At the top of Poodle Dog Pass the remaining snow had foot tracks to the lake side campsites and we were fine without traction. There was a dirt patch that could fit two tents under a tree above the lake but expect the rest to be snow covered and extra slushy on a warmer day. The lake and snow around it is melting fast.
