few people on the way up. The trail is heavily overgrown with how wet this spring has been. There was a lot of bushwhacking to be had. There is one main water crossing that would be best if you had chacos, but not terrible. The other crossings are more doable with downed trees or rocks. Obviously all of the elevation gain is at the end, which is kind of nice to make it one big push up. Still, the bushwhacking on the climb up wasn’t the most enjoyable. Had the lake to ourselves (likely due to the rain in the forecast). The lake is beautiful but buggy, so def bring but spray. Few patches of snow around the lake but the trail was completely clear. There are a few nice campsites to the right (just need to climb over a bunch of logs). We got lucky and only had some light intermittent rain after setting up camp. On the way back, however, we were completely water logged due to the rain covering the overgrowth. Still had an enjoyable time with some nice views. Enjoyable, easy one-nighter or day trip.

I was quite bummed I did not bring along my fly rod. There were a ton of risers when we arrived at the lake in the evening. I was only able to see rainbow trout, so not sure what other species are in there.
