Mailbox Peak — Wednesday, Jul. 3, 2024

Snoqualmie Region > North Bend Area
Mailbox Peak by Pollie

I arrived a little before 7am and there were about 8 vehicles on the lower lot. I started right around 7.

This was my second attempt at it. The first time was a couple of years ago the first week of June. There was still snow on the rocks then and I wasn’t prepared for it so turned back.

This time though….

I took the new trail up and probably only saw 3 people hiking separately. The trail was very well maintained. And the weather! It was such a beautiful day for a hike! My legs started to get tired as I was reaching the boulders. But a break here and there helped. The hike up the rocks was not as bad as I thought but still a tad tough. I was welcomed by its majesty, Rainer. It was breathtaking and I could have spend the entire day just taking it all in. The views from the peak were stunning.

On my way down, I took the new trail again and holy shit, my legs and knees hated it. It was rough but I had heard that the old trail is worse so I’m glad I did the new one.

It took me almost 6 hours from beginning to end. That included stops to listen to the birds, to rest, to take in the views.
