Once off the main road, the short distance to the trailhead is filled with potholes, but unless you drive a low clearance vehicle it shouldn't be a problem. There's an outhouse adjacent to the parking lot (which is always nice before and after a hike). The trail is well maintained and impossible to get lost. Before reaching Lake Annette, there's a tree with a sign with an arrow saying toilet. Did not have a chance to check it out, but it'd be nice if there's an actual place where one can relieve themselves prior to arriving at the lake. The hike itself was difficult for me. Was unable to recover from a previous elevation bike ride a day prior. My legs were suffering. Overall, the hike was fun. Suggest arriving early, the parking lot was full by the time I left. I arrived before 8 a.m., and there were already at least 20-30 vehicles. By the time I left, there were vehicles along the road leading to the trailhead.
