Just a quick update on conditions since the last one I could find was from a couple of weeks ago.
SNOW: There's a snow section about Stujack Pass that you could bypass by going through the brush though (if staying on snow this would have required crampons at this time in the morning, around 9am I think; on the way down it was soft enough for plunging). Afterwards you'll gain the ridge which is mostly snow-free (see picture), to gain it cross a short snow section and continue on snow or drop into the moat. Alternatively you could go up to that mini-summit at 6100 (?) ft and downclimb some class 3 stuff. Another snowfield you'll definitely have to cross when you're getting closer to the summit (past the ridge and scramble section). Ice ax advisable.
WATER: Nothing past the first 1k. Lake Metam looked pretty stagnant to me that I wouldn't want to filter from it. There's snow beyond the pass though.
BUGS: Inconsistent. Horrible when going up from Stujack Pass towards the ridge but for the rest of the trip not much of an issue.
