Nice hike up to Scorpion Mountain on a hot day!
As others have mentioned, the road is pretty long on forest roads (~6 miles). It’s in really good condition (minimal potholes) but it is narrow so would recommend taking your time.
The trail itself is in great condition - I think there was only one tree blowdown and that was around mile 3.7 or so. Otherwise it was really surprisingly great trail winding along the ridgeline. There are maybe two steep sections, but otherwise not a difficult hike.
On snow - there was some snow but not too bad. Patches from about 5k elevation to 5200, but very minimal around the open fields or summit. I kept sandals on the whole time without issue, which should give an idea of how not bad the snow was
