Hiked 1390 from Esmeralda TH to Longs Pass and then followed 1229 down to where it meets Ingalls Creek Trail (1215) to camp 2 nights and day hike. We are moderate hikers and it took us 4-5 hours each direction. A small amount of snow coming down the pass but avoidable by keeping to the left. The scree was a bit intimidating but we got down fine, slowly with the aid of a hiking pole. Tried to reach Inglass Lake from the crossing of 1215 with Stweart pass (1558) but we couldn't find the trail up to the lake.
Water refill along 1229 at the campsite. and many water refill options along 1215.
The trailhead was not busy when we arrived Thursday 11AM, and we only saw a few people on the way in and while in the valley, but the TH was full packed when we got back Saturday 1pm. No toilet paper in the TH bathroom.
Very fun and memorable trip.

its about half-way along the trail from the pass to the creek, good shade and a stream and close to big views. seemed less buggy then down by the creek campsites too.
