Hiked the trail on an extremely hot day, so we struggled a bit with the heat. During the climb, there are several places where the trail is a stream, but it can be tough to know where you’re supposed to leave the stream bed, as parts of the trail are overgrown. If you get lost, the good news is you should be able to navigate by the sound of the running water.
Lots of wildflowers blooming! Counted about 16-20 different species in my very unsophisticated count. Bugs aren’t too bad during the heat of the afternoon, but we heard they were awful in the evenings (which matches my experience there this time of year).
