A few years ago, a trip report stated there were over 150 logs on the trail in the 3 miles to the pass. Last year a forest service crew cleared to the Wilderness Boundary and a WTA crew made a good dent within the Wilderness Area. This year WTA was back and cleared the remaining logs except for 31 before the pass. None of these represent too much of an obstacle but a number of social trails have developed to avoid them. I hope that a future trip can establish a preferred trail and rehab some of the social trails near the top.
The entire trail needs a lot of tread work and brushing to improve accessibility for a wider range of hikers.
