I like hiking to get away from the crowds and this is definitely one of those places. The road up is fine up until you get to the gravel. Like others have stated, there is some washboarding along the way but I was able to get through it with my sedan so still passable. I got to the parking lot at 3:00pm seeing only 1 other vehicle and started the hike. It wasn't until I got to the top that I realized that no one had come down and I was the only person hiking here. Once I got to the top, I saw 2 people in the fire lookout and found out they were volunteers staying the night there. There are some sections in the trail that make you wonder if you're on the right path but just stick to the most defined path and should be good. On the way down I ran into one other person so a total of 3 people on the entire hike. Driving back, I did see a few cars driving up so it is possible they were getting there late to hike up to see the sunset. Overall, a fun place if you want to enjoy some solitude and a fire lookup.
