What a difference a few days can make. Saw the report from not too long ago about the snow fields…completely gone today. Some water/slight mud from them but completely passable.
Great day on the trail (tho super exposed most of the way so bring sun protection and lots of water)! And the flies and bees were PERSISTENT lol.
Only complaint: too many people off the trail in those fragile meadows. Saw a couple out on one doing a photoshoot, a group who set their tents up on one, and another group who positioned their tent well but then ran off and were walking with their dog on the meadow! People: it takes 20 years to replace those squashed plants. Stay on the dang trail!! It’s so well maintained and the views are all around you. There is no reason to destroy the alpine meadows for your own selfish needs. In the last pic spot the offenders…

Same experience. It was so frustrating to see people camping and walking on the meadows.

SO frustrating! I always wonder if they just don’t care or if they simply are uneducated about how fragile the meadows are. It makes me so sad either way.

I mean...some maybe lack of education but the ones I posted had to walk right past a "trail closed" sign to get out there. And they def spoke English. So...
