I agree with recent trail reports. The dirt road is long with lots of deep potholes scattered to navigate around. Narrow road makes it difficult to deal with oncoming cars- road has a steep slope down one side you don’t want to roll off. The lower part of the trail is very narrow and overgrown in places- with vegetation brushing up on both sides as you walk. Once you get to the saddle, it really opens up and the rest of the hike through the old growth forest is in great shape. The final push to the peak was hard, my legs were tired. There were nice clean rocks to sit on up top and we had great views of the surrounding mountain peaks. Some bugs along the hike but Deet spray kept them away for the most part. Not amokey. The toilet at the trailhead smelled clean but had no TP. Up the trail there was a sign for a trail toilet but we didn’t need to investigate it.
