Third Bainbridge Island Hike-a-Thon kick off stop of the day! The lower trail parallels the shoreline and has lots of spots to switch over to the beach. The creasote clean up site was active and noisy today so I'd stay at the end near the Exclusion Memorial if you want to play on the beach. The viewpoint just past the Superfund mess was lovely and had a great view of Seattle though sadly Rainier was not out today. The shade on most of the trails was appreciated as was the clean port-a-potty at the Memorial end trailhead.
I am hiking all this month to raise funds and awareness for WTA so that the trails can be enjoyed by future generations. If you would like to contribute, any amount helps.
