To get to the trailhead, follow the written directions from WTA. You’ll be parking in the Gold Creek parking area. Google maps tried to take us past the parking area.
A majority of the trail is on an old forest service road that is mostly exposed. The road was easy to navigate and full of wildflowers and berries.
From the parking lot, our GPS recorded our mileage at about 3.9 miles before we made the left turn to get to the lakes. We made it to the second lake and attempted to head up to the third lake. However, the incline was fairly steep and the trail had many large boulders, downed trees, and logs. It was a bit difficult for us to navigate with our 10 month old so we turned around.
Our round trip mileage was just over 9 miles. I would guess if you make it to the third lake, it’s going to be closer to 9.5-10 miles.
