Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area
View through the brush of Puget Sound from upper loop. C.W. Schurman

A friend and I took our dogs from her place (about a mile away) to the upper path of Lincoln Park for a 2-hour mid-day stroll (12-2) through the woods for about 5 miles round trip. It's been years since I've made my way to West Seattle, so this was a pleasant outing. Lots of summer camps, so we only heard about 11 bird species. Tons of people walking their dogs.

We encountered a homeless man occupying three benches with all his stuff, overlooking the beach. He was pleasant enough, but those benches were otherwise unavailable for use.

Blackberries are abundant and ripe. A lovely meander. We chose not to descend to the beach, given the midday sun/heat for our two dogs. Blackberries are ripe and abundant for a nice sweet treat.

Heart rocks on a local neighborhood stoop on our return walk. C.W. Schurman
