Bear Ridge is my tried and true go-to hike when I am in Issaquah and have a couple hours to kill. I like making a counter-clockwise loop Trail joining together Bear Ridge with Shangri La Trail and the Tibbets Creek/Marsh Trails (see map) which makes the total distance ~4.5 miles. The first section is a bit tight with side foliage encroaching, but not too bad. Always love the ferns. Do I remember correctly that there used to be a porta-potty in the parking lot at the top at the Henry Manning trailhead? Anyway, there were none this time so bring your trowel and leave no trace folks. Really lovely afternoon before taking a yoga class (check out Spira Power Yoga in Issaquah - they are awesome!).
