The Mt Jupiter Fire (2620 fire) on the east end of the Mt. Jupiter Ridge has grown from 4 acres last night to 150 acres as of about 2pm on the 15th. Under a 8mph NE breeze, the smoke has settled far up the Duckabush watershed and into the national forest. The fire appears to have started at the east edge of that clear cut near the access road (or non-access, as you will) and has probably grown uphill and to the west. This afternoon there's a stage 2 (ready to go) warning for residents of Duckabush road, and a caution to everyone else to stay away. The view from Port Orchard is that the entire area is clouded w/ smoke, including the Dosewallips.
