Friday hiking. Late start - we got to the trailhead at around 1:30pm. There was a bit of traffic around Sultan going east on on Hwy 2, not the worst we've seen on that stretch but not the best either. Parking lot was almost full, around 3-5 empty spaces at the time. Flush toilets were very clean. Lots of picnic tables in the lot but no one using them.
We started hiking around 1:50pm and took slightly over an hour to get to the middle falls. Lots of blackberry around the start of the trail as it passed under the power lines. Trail was nice, bit rooty in places, somewhat gravelly, no boulders to climb over. Saw maybe 10 or so dogs total - every dog was on their best behavior today. The last section of the trail was the steepest. We took a break midway and I was afraid the dog would lie down and demand to go back to the car - thankfully we made it to the viewpoint. There were a couple of groups there, and we ate a quick lunch before going back down.
