I’m always nervous about “partly sunny” forecasts as I’ve been burned before, but today the clouds remained high and Baker was fully visible for most of the day. The first glacial creek crossing was a little tricky in the afternoon but we made it across with dry feet. If you don’t care about keeping your feet dry, it would be easy to ford.
The fall colors were starting but didn’t seem to be at peak yet. Maybe another week or two.

Hi Anne! Thankyou for the trip report. This looks like a gorgeous hike, I am planning to do do this during the upcoming weekend, you mentioned that the road is rough but passable, I have a 2007 prius, do you think my car is suitable to make it upto the trailhead? Thankyou!

I’ve never driven a Prius so I’m not sure. Some other trips reports mention sedans have made it just fine, you just may need to drive slowly and carefully. I didn’t drive so I didn’t pay a lot of attention to the road, but from what I remember I agree with the other trip reports. If you go slow you should be fine.
