Central Cascades > Stevens Pass - West

This was a bonus great weather fall day in the PNW. Sun shining, not to cold, not too hot, and seems most folks knew it. The drive up from NE Seattle area was simple, with steady traffic on HWY 2. Parking lot was filling up, but not full when we arrived around 10am. By the time we were done with our hike, the parking lot was full, and overflow parking was happening just past the fork in the road that goes left. The trail head is to the right. Short walk from overflow parking on road if necessary.

The trail conditions were great, and fairly heavy traffic on the trails. Constantly moving over to let others pass in the opposite direction, but all were courteous. The trail does start out easy, with little elevation gain, but it does pick up later as you get closer to the falls, and by the time you are on the stair climb portion of the hike, it does get the deep breathing going and the sweat starts to turn on, if you keep up the steady pace. There is plenty of room to take breaks along the way though if you are looking for a more leisurely pace.

Overall, great hike, highly recommend. Dogs on this trail was no problem.
