First time here and we’ll definitely come again. The hike is fairly easy. The first mile and half is just a ramble through the woods but very lovely! So, green with some fall foliage starting. Just a few orange flowers left. And maybe one or two Herb Roberts. There are 2 larger creek crossing but we didn’t get wet. I could see these being more challenging if the water was high. Once you make the turn for Bridal Veil Falls, the trail gets rocky and has stairs. Boy, are those some stairs. Since I’ve never seen the falls before, just in pictures, I thought they were flowing pretty good. We got misted by them. We enjoyed climbing on the rocks, before heading back down. When we got back to the junction, we took Lake Serene trail about half a mile out. We walked across the bridge and found some more of the falls that we could touch. Great views over the valley. We spotted Heybrook Lookout. Parking lot was half full, and not busy on the trail. I wouldn’t want to go on a crowded day.
