What a day to be out hiking! We were the first car at the trailhead just before 8:30 a.m. This was our most challenging hike of the year, so we kept a very easy pace. With my fear of heights and now apparently fear of exposure, we only made it a few switchbacks in on the steep sloped meadow. Fall colors were stunning. We passed three separate parties on our way back down, hopefully they made it to the peak! Several groups seemed to hike to the initial meadow, ~2mi in. There were 6 more cars at the lot when we made it back about 1:30 p.m. This one is on my list for a wildflower hike in the early season, and my goal is to get to that peak.
