Heather - Maple Pass Loop — Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024

We hiked last Sunday 10/20 and got really lucky with weather! Arrived at the lot at 7:15 am to less than a half dozen cars in the lot, likely due to the forecast showing all rain for most of the weekend.

We got sun, clouds, fog, and wind at the top but no rain all day! The snow from earlier in the week was gone and we got a few late-season larches still holding on, though definitely not as vibrant as peak which is to be expected.

Very few people on the trail encountered as we navigated the loop counter-clockwise. The hikers we did encounter --dog and human alike-- were kind and respectful. Beautiful day on the loop before snow makes it inaccessible for the season.
