We arrived at the trailhead around 11:45am after navigating the snow-packed road, especially near the top, when we arrived there was just one other car parked and we passed the mother and her two kiddos on their way down as we were heading up. The trail was covered in snow, it ranged from 10-12” with a path that was lovingly made by earlier travelers. We were not expecting as much snow as we had, but we had brought hiking poles which made it a lot easier to navigate.
The view was incredible! It was very cold when we were up at the lookout, but the stunning views made it worth it. The temperature started to drop around 1:00pm and that is when we decided to head back. On the way down we saw some hair and blood in the snow where we believe some kind of owl got a squirrel. There were also some feline prints in the snow.
**Please be careful driving up and down the trailhead. It was very icy and snowy, only AWD cars should attempt at this time**

How far from the lookout did you park? Did you walk the road? Could we make it in a Forester?

We parked in the upper parking lot which was about 1.5 miles from the lookout. It is where maps takes you when you enter the trailhead. We made it in my crosstrek, so a forester should be fine :) just be cautious with all the snow
