There was quite a bit of snow on the road on the way up. We managed it with chains until about 1.5 miles from the trailhead, where downed trees blocked further progress. After pulling off the road and parking, we hiked to the trailhead and made our way up the trail. The trail was snow-covered all the way up, so progress was slower than normal. None of us had snowshoes, though they would have been nice for the last couple miles. We made it to within a mile of the summit before we decided to turn around to make it back before dark.
