Issaquah Alps > Tiger Mountain
Cleared windfall

I was so impressed with the amount of work done to clear all the windfall.  A big thank you to all involved.  The trail is now in excellent condition and there's only one remaining blowdown near the top that is easy to walk over.  There are a few root craters from fallen trees that took out the trail tread.  This looks like it will be fairly easy to repair. I counted rings on one of the larger cut windfall trees and it was about 220 years old!  I spend a little time scraping away some unwanted graffiti from a fence post.

The parking lot was about 1/2 full at 9 am.  There was a significant inversion lingering, so it was around freezing at the trailhead and pushing 50 degrees near the top. Nice clear views today.  We took a short side trip on the dirt access road to see a view of the new clearcut on Middle Tiger.  They left a few straggly looking trees which actually makes it look even worse.  I have no idea if the Middle Tiger trail is still open.  It does look like the view from there will very good to the south.
