Granite Creek Trail to Granite Lakes — Thursday, Dec. 19, 2024

Snoqualmie Region > North Bend Area
Best view I got since I couldn't find the dingdang lake lol

Short stretches of shallow slush at the very top. The obvious trail, matching the one on my map on Gaia, does not seem to lead directly to the lakeshore, it connected to a swamp below the mouth of the lake without a good lake view. Bummer.I have only ever been here with lots of snow on the ground pressing the brush down and protecting it, making the lake accessible, but I didn't see a way through the brush to the actual shore at this time of year. And since I was up there at 25 minutes to sunset I didn't have time to look. Oh well. Maybe it does go to the right place but the water is too high right now? I dunno.

2 other cars when i started 2pm, I was the only one left at 5. 3hr round trip, bit of mud, a few easy blowdowns. Finished by headlamp.
