Big Four Ice Caves Snowshoe — Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024

Solid snow on the road past Lake 22 Tuesday morning.  Not plowed yet, so a bit more driving adventure than I had expected (some large branches and a couple of trees to navigate around).  Parked at the gate and hiked to the picnic area and back.  About 3-6” of snow on the road to this point, so a big change from a few days ago.  Had microspikes in the pack, but got by with boots and gaiters.  Snowshoes may have been useful closer to Barlow Pass.  Solid coverage for the XC skiers.
