Oxbow Loop Trail — Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025

Snoqualmie Region > North Bend Area
Oxbow Lake

Before we headed home from Garfield Ledges, we took a hike around the Oxbow Loop Trail!

THE ROAD / PARKING

We got to the small pull-off that starts the loop (the one without the toilet) around 12:30. There were a few cars there already, but still spaces left.

THE TRAIL

The loop was in good shape! We headed over to the other trailhead first to use the restroom, which was also in good shape, and had toilet paper. Then we headed back and did the loop clockwise.

There were no obstructions on the trail, and even brush that I had seen earlier this year was cut. We went down to the Middle Fork Snoqualmie River on the southeast corner of the loop, which was really nice.

There's one blowdown on the north side of the loop that isn't on the trail, so nothing to walk over, under, or around — it's left some hanging pine-laden branches over the trail, but it's easy to walk under/through.

MISC.

We only saw 1 other party out there today — it was very quiet. It started raining on us in the second half of the hike and was foggy all day.

We could see a lot of snow on the mountains in the distance. The snow line is higher than it was earlier this week, but it still seems pretty low!

Blowdown (not blocking the trail)
