This was our first snowshoe. Despite the low visibility, we had a great time! There was a good bootpath until we turned off the road for the climb to Inspiration Saddle. From that point on, we were breaking trail and it became much more strenuous.
The Longmire-Paradise road opened late, so we only started snowshoeing at 12:40pm. We just about hit our turnaround time a bit past Inspiration Saddle, at 2:27pm. A tree also dumped a ton of snow on us right at that moment, ow, and that seemed like a good time to call it.
We hope to come back on a nicer day sometime soon!
