No snow on the road, however there is ice on the parking lot. Trail in snow covered after a few min in. Recommend microspikes for traction on the trail, it is hard packed snow and ice. Many trees down across the trail, none were difficult to get around. I only made it a little beyond Shelter Rock at 2.6 miles in.

Jim, thanks for the info on the upper trailhead conditions. Now, barring new snow, I know we can use that trailhead to talke a GrayWolf crew to a larger tree across the trail below Camp Jolly. Shorter hike than coming in from the lower trailhead.
