Decided to head out on likely my last hike of the season today.
Got to the trail head about 11.30, there was 2 other cars in the lot with me, which was expected on a Tuesday.
Took about an hour and a half to reach the lake, the last quarter mile is EXTREMELY icy. There are off path trails to stay in wooded non icy areas. Id highly recommend using those as much as possible. Micro spikes didn't really help, I slipped and fell a couple times, especially on the way down.
The lake looks completely frozen over, looked like someone was out there ice fishing, but I didn't want to risk it.
All in all with a 20 min lunch at top I was up and down in about 3 hours.
Great sunny day and basically had the trail to myself.
