Great hike for a shaking out the Winter Legs.
Arrived at the trailhead at about 1PM and a fairly crowded parking lot. Road conditions weren't icy, and snow free. The pit toilet was open.
The first mile and a half is the bulk of the incline, and levels a bit after towards the balcony. Make note, that you'll have to cross the service road once upon the first quarter mile. The trail actually picks back up after walking on the road, over the bridge, and on the other side of the road. There'll be a sign for the trail, that'll be your ticket that you're on the right track. There are plenty of cliffs and ledges to take a peek out towards the corridor, but make no mistake, none of these will be the "Balcony." Rather, at about 2.5 miles, you'll come across 4 way intersection, and the signage for the balcony will be clearly marked.
Trail was fairly obstacle free, albeit a few stumps kinda get in the way. No spikes necessary, as the trail pretty much thawed out. Some frost or dusting still left over, but nothing anyone had to cross. To my surprise, there were some icicles off a ledge by the trail. Great hike!
