It was a stunning day for a 28 degree, sunrise hike! I left the empty lower lot at 5:15 and made it to the summit 2 hours and 20 min later. The weather app said sunrise was at 7:33 but it officially came over the mountain at 7:47. Not a soul was up there and it was spectacular! There was also no wind!
I had to put my microspikes on for the final 500 feet after the boulder field. It would be tough to do the last 300 or so without them as there aren't good foot holes towards the end.
I decided to do the old trail down and because of the ground being hard packed due to the cold it was pretty nice and grippy. A sunrise hike is one of the best experiences ever!!
