OK I would not try and drive this road without a 4x4 vehicle. In my Jeep we were rolling slow slow slow and a little scrappy in some high spots. I have a 9.2 ground clearance and probably 11 inches would have been better.
But if you can get there safely - Trail report: No bathrooms, No clear signage at the junctions which way frog, Blanca and such are. Very poor on the directions. Trails are fairly easy to navigate, I would have Gaia downloaded as with snow trails get lost fast. Gaia helped me drive the roads and find the TH. Again Signage is pretty sucky if not existent.
I have done this hike without snow, gradual switchbacks and great views (moderate hike). In the snow (hard hike), we just snowshoed straight up. However, please be aware IMO there are avy areas. We went on a very low avy day with some experienced snow travelers.
We had spikes on from the vehicles. Used snowshoes to get to the top.
Views are stellar on a clear day.
