My friend and I started at Mt. Si trailhead since the Mt. Teneriffe trailhead parking lot gate was posted to be closing at 4pm, and we were not sure if we would make it back in time.
We connected to the Teneriffe Falls trail, and then went up Kamikaze trail - in the beginning there were some orange ribbons but we could not find any more after a quarter mile in. The trail was faint at times, but basically if you go straight up, you are pretty much on the right way. I thought it's more challenging than the old trail up Mailbox peak, but from the Falls to the top was only a mile (but probably the longest one mile I ever did). Going up 2000+ ft in one mile was no joke. We put on microspikes about 0.3 miles from the top, and since it was a warm day, it was a lot of post-holing and slush. The top was entirely snow covered, and we didn't go to the very edge since we were not sure if there was a cornice or not.
Coming down we took the Mt Teneriffe trail. Fortunate there were boot marks helping us navigate. There were faint orange markings on the trees, but sometimes hard to make out if you are not really looking. There were decent amount of snow, and so more post-holing, until the junction with the Upper Si-Teneriffe Connector trail.
It was a good call to park at Mt. Si parking lot, since we didn't get down until after dark.
