Squaxin Park (Priest Point) — Friday, Mar. 7, 2025

Olympic Peninsula > Olympia
Squaxin Park

I've visited this park many times but this was the first time I hiked the East Park Trail.  I started with this trail since I parked in the upper lot next to the maintenance building.  I followed the trail to where it branched off to cross the East Bay drive and then continued along the Park Loop trail and finished the hike by crossing back over to the East Park Loop trail and completing that trail.  This hike is a hidden gem in Olympia Washington.  Lot's of birds, both in the forest areas and shorebirds along beach at Ellis Cove.  Trail is well maintained, and the forested areas are free of underbrush with some very large old growth trees.

An easy hike for kids, and the trail is dog friendly with a leash. A good way to spend a couple of hours to unwind from a stressful day. =efh=
