I went up to Cougar Mountain this morning around 9.30am for a short hike. I hadn't checked the conditions before I left so was (pleasantly) surprised to see snow. There was a bit of snow on the road and in the lot at Sky Country trailhead where I parked. I hiked about 3 miles through Old Man's trail and Cave Hole trail down to Coal Creek falls and back through the Nike Horse trail. The trails were quite wet and had some snow. Fortunately, I had good trail shoes and hiking poles which made it easier to navigate. The waterfall was heavy and overall, it was a really pretty hike, especially as the sun was out. The snow started to melt as it got warmer and the road was clear by the time I headed back.
