Just a follow-up to the last report by Dmc1 -
Went up there today with my saw and a machete, fully intending to clear some of the trail. Never even put them to use as the blowdowns were all too big to handle, and someone had already cleared most of the blocking branches. You will still have to squirm over, under and through dozens of branches and trunks. The last report was right - it's pretty bad. Until someone clears some of this with a chainsaw, it adds a degree of difficulty that makes it hard to justify a boring hike to a boring lake. (the affected area is only about 100 yds long, so it's still doable if you're limber and stubborn)
Anyway, here are some pics - the trail is in the middle of each one.
(edit - 6/27/25: check out previous report for info on how to get there from the Lake Chaplain side. Remember to sign in; the gate closes at 6pm.)

Thanks for the follow up report. Doesn’t look like it’s changed much since November!
