So many trees have fallen across the trail. These obstacles are like a jungle gym blocking the way making passage rough. Snow covers the trail starting at 5000 feet. Turned around today at the trail junction with the Noble Knob trail.

Do the fallen logs start pretty close to the start (junction with WR trail) of the deep Creek trail or are they mostly higher up? Asking because there is an official log-out of the Corral Pass road scheduled for this Saturday and if things wrap up early we may have time to start tackling Deep Creek trail. But if most of the blow-down is on the upper part of the trail then this may not be feasible. thank you!

Only a few blowdowns in the first 1.5 miles. It gets very bad beyond 2 miles up. It will take a lot of work to clear. Of course, there are plenty for dead trees still standing until the next big windstorm.

We cleared all the blowdowns up to 3700 ft elevation. I checked out the trail to 4000ft and between 3800 and 4000 are about 35 larger trees down. If it's like that most of the way up you are right: it will take a lot of work to get them all cut out.
Thanks again for the info!
Also, the Corral Pass road is cleared to 4500 ft.... with a good number of blowdowns remaining.
