Methow Wildlife Area - Lewis Butte — Tuesday, Apr. 29, 2025

Gorgeous, sunny day on the trail. A bit windy at the top. Plenty of parking at 11 am on a Tuesday. If first lot is full there is a second one about 1/2 mile further down the road (but no toilet). I hiked clockwise to get best photos due to sun and wind. I used my poles a few times coming down the switchbacks on the east side of the loop but it’s not that steep. Flowers are at their peak. If the entire loop seems a bit too much, go counter clockwise for as far as you feel comfortable then turn around. I really think the west side of the loop is a bit anti climatic as it’s an old field so few flowers.
