Loved this hike! Every view was spectacular. We hiked up to the interpretive center (which we skipped because we had the dogs with us) and admired the views of the lighthouse. The forested trail was beautiful and a gentle grade.
The signage was a bit confusing at the start but we just followed the path past huge, gorgeous trees, and then came upon the Deadman’s Cove sign. It used to be a scramble with a rope but now they’ve added stairs. It’s still a little nerve wracking but kids and older folks alike were doing it! It looks more intimidating than it is.
The hike up to the lighthouse was a bit steep but the views are worth it! We could see the 101 bridge, the Columbia River spit, and the coastal mountains. Beautiful!!
It took us about an hour and a half total at a leisurely pace.
