This is a much-used and thus well-worn trail, rocky in places. I’m always … um, impressed by some hikers’ determination to cut switchbacks, and trail maintenance people’s determination to minimize that. Started about 11 am; finished (after a break on Lunch Rock and a little side trip down to the inlet stream, then looped back to the main trail via the lower part of the upper trail (does that make ANY sense?). This trail is really popular on weekends but on a Monday I saw about two dozen humans and about six dogs.
Trilliums still in bloom as I hiked higher, lots of Oregon grape in bloom down low.
Two things to watch out for: there are two big potholes (one inbound, one outbound) on the otherwise smoothly paved road, and the trailhead toilets were locked; conditions behind the building were pretty dire.
