Palouse to Cascades Trail - The Tunnel — Sunday, May. 18, 2025

The Tunnel is open and was a wonderful way to spend a rainy morning. Our family of four, plus two trail pups, enjoyed a stroll through the Tunnel. We crossed paths with a few other folks, but mostly felt like we had the Tunnel to ourselves! It was the perfect rainy day hike! It was chilly out today and the temperature in the middle of the tunnel was likely warmer than the outside air -- but jackets, hats, and gloves were nice to have. It should go without saying, but a headlight or flashlight is a must for this adventure - though it is fun to turn it off occasionally to really get a feel for the darkness!
