There are lots of other trip reports on this trail, so I'll just make some general comments. Road 9714 had some huge potholes at the beginning and was rough at the end but the middle was easy going. Parking at the trailhead can be difficult; a downed tree cramped the space but everyone fit in and no one was blocked. The stream crossing was quite drivable in my Crosstrek; see photos. We knew that Memorial Day weekend was not the best time to do this hike and it was indeed a busy trail; at one point Amber counted 40 people at the summit. Always nice to see little kids out hiking, and the majority of the dogs were well behaved. The wildflowers were wonderful. We made a list of 27 that we knew, and took photos of several more we didn't to look up at home.

Jasper & the Girl Scouts on Iron Bear - Teanaway Ridge
Wow, the real Ann Marshall of Signpost fame. I met you in the late 80's at your red barn. So cool! Thanks for the great report.

Hi, Jasper & the Girl Scouts! Wow, so pleased to hear from an "old-timer" who remembers the Red Barn. Nice that you are still hiking and still reading Signpost ... I mean, Washington Trails :-)
